The Sports Science Academy, available to high school students, is held at the Genesee Community College (GCC) Dansville campus. The course curriculum includes sports management, health sciences related to coaching, weight and athletic training, body conditioning as well as Red Cross Certification in first aid and CPR.
This is a joint venture with Genesee Community College (GCC) through the ACE Program. The ACE Program is a partnership between Genesee Community College and Western New York high schools to provide college courses to secondary students during the school day.
Students are eligible to earn 15 college credit hours through GCC at a third of the regular GCC tuition.
This is a half-day program. Students will attend their home school district for core academics and will then come to the Sports Science Academy at the GCC Campus for the remainder of their school day. Transportation will be provided by the students’ home districts.
Students who are interested in taking the course must sign up this year with their high school guidance counselors.
This program is only offered at the GV BOCES Dansville Campus.
